En los últimos años se advierte una tendencia legislativa en la región en un claro avance de ampliar los derechos de las mujeres que tiene su norte en la igualdad de género. En este sentido, la figura del femicidio o feminicidio, se convirtió en la bandera de lucha de los movimientos activistas de mujeres de Latinoamérica, obteniéndose su tratamiento legislativo.<br/>Con ello se asumió la obligación internacional de muchos Estados de prevenir, erradicar y sancionar la violencia contra aquellas, que se base en su condición de tales. |
